Students from the Chair were honoured to be awarded the "Relève Hippocrate" award 2023 at the 13th edition of the prestigious "Prix Hippocrate" gala held on October 26. Health Minister Christian Dubé and Roche Canada CEO Brigitte Nolet co-chaired the event.
The "Prix de la relève" is awarded to a group of students from various disciplines at a Quebec university, CEGEP or college, whether or not they come from a faculty related to the health sciences but whose achievements influence people's health and lives. These students must have developed an innovative interdisciplinary project operational in the community as part of their training.
Doctoral student Anaëlle Morin and Master's student Marie-Eve Perron, co-supervised by Chair professor Marie-Eve Poitras, were on site to receive the award.
The innovation presented, the Chair's "Caf'échange" project, is a series of meetings between members of the research team and caregivers or people living with chronic diseases who are significant users of primary care services. These meetings are generally orchestrated from scratch by students. Various current topics in health care are discussed, but especially focusing on the experience of navigating the health system. From these rich discussions emerge issues and inspirations for future research projects. These meetings also provide an opportunity to share the results of our research projects, discuss their relevance to patients and obtain their feedback.
Congratulations on this recognition and your commitment to building a learning healthcare system!
