As primary care evolves against successive reforms, our study focuses on the mechanisms for financing, remunerating and organizing services across Canada. Particular emphasis is placed on teamwork-enhancing transformations, including the increasing integration of registered nurses into primary care.

The results reveal considerable inter-provincial variability, both in terms of organizational structures and remuneration arrangements. Of particular concern is the marked absence of data on the remuneration of nurses, who are central to interdisciplinary teams.
This study highlights the importance of better documenting and harmonizing provincial models to support the integration of collaborative primary care in Canada.
