Launched in April 2024, the educational program was developed by the Team Primary Care Nurse, including the Primary Care Nurse of Canada (PCNC) and Professors Marie-Eve Poitras (Université de Sherbrooke) and Julia Lukewich (Memorial University).
The educational program, available online for free, is interactive and engaging. It was created in collaboration with pardeux e-learning and aims to support the full implementation of professional practices for primary care nurses across Canada.
In 2025, the educational program gained international recognition by winning a Brandon Hall Gold Award for Best Advance in Content Management Technology.
Since its launch, more than 700 Canadian nurses have participated in the educational program! A real success!
The educational program is still available to nurses who wish to learn more about their role in primary care.

Our team recently published the research protocol aimed at evaluating the deployment of the educational program in Canada and its outcomes. This evaluation will provide a better understanding of how the program is being used, measure its impact on professional practice, and help guide future continuing education programs for Canadian nurses.
A preview of some of the results!
86% of participants believed that the training would enhance their practice.
Nurses’ levels of knowledge and confidence in performing their various roles within their primary care practice increased significantly after the education.
